It’s been a whirlwind of a year since completing my first Yoga teacher training. Looking back, I can still feel the warm fuzzies in my heart space from  when my incredible teacher addressed us as Yogis. All my life I’d felt uncomfortable with titles but this one, this one was heart-gasm material. Like many, I signed up for the training to “deepen my personal practice” with no intention of actually stepping up and taking the seat of a teacher. Fast forward 200 training hours and I was even more mad keen in love with the practise. There was no way I was keeping it to myself.

It’s been a tumultuously transformative year that has taken me from teaching in studios in my home town of Perth, Australia to Bali, Indonesia teaching in a resort.  Now I write to you from my current home, a detox and yoga retreat centre in the Philippines.  I’m so blinkin grateful for the opportunities Yoga has opened up for me so I thought I’d share some of the insights, some of the big fellas!

1. Never forget the privilege we have been gifted, to share our love and ever evolving understanding of Yoga with the world. Under the title of teacher, we illuminate a pathway for people to be guided by their breath and out of their minds, back into their bodies and home to their hearts.

2. YOUR humanness is what attracts people to your classes. Bumble, stumble, trip and of course fall. Teach what you know and be honest about what you don’t. For example, if someone shows up to class, baby on board, make it clear you are not a
