Deep Yoga Relaxation Workshop
You may be experiencing 2 types of Deep Relaxation Techniques in this workshop: Yoga Nidra (means Yoga Sleep) or Deep Yoga Relaxation using Visualisations similar to hypnosis techniques. You may experience a state of altered consciousness, yet you are not asleep in the sense of sleep that you experience when you go to bed at night. The systematic relaxation allows you to enter a state that is similar to what we experience just before falling asleep when we are deeply relaxed, yet aware.
Unlike other forms of meditation where you have to maintain a focus for your concentration, in Yoga Nidra and in Deep Yoga Relaxation, you are guided through several stages that work on accessing your unconscious mind. All you need to do is find a comfortable position and follow the teacher’s voice. It is not uncommon to fall asleep during the practice or to only remember parts of it, if you are tired, or very stressed. Then the body claims sleep at every chance if it is deprived or desperately needed. Your unconscious mind remains aware and even though you may not remember all the instructions, you will have taken them in at a deeper level.
Each time you practice Deep Yoga Relaxation or Yoga Nidra the experience will be different. These experiences allows you to access inner resources that help you to manage emotions and thoughts and to take a step back from these, to see them objectively.
Objectives of the Yoga Deep Relaxation Workshop
A truly nourishing and therapeutic Yoga Relaxation practice, leaving you rested, collected and composed as you leave the Studio ready to enjoy the rest of your week-end.
We will focus on:
- Gentle stretches to prepare the body for sitting or lying down in stillness
- Setting an intention or positive affirmation or resolve for the practice – ‘Sankalpa’
- Creating an inner resource of strength and resilience
- A body scan to relax the body and settle the mind
- Awareness of the breath
- Awareness of your feelings and sensations in the body
- Watching and observing your thoughts
- Visual journey
Who’s it for?
Deep Yoga Relaxation is accessible to all and everyone with or without Yoga experience. You will have the option to participate either seated or lying down.
