About Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a form of Yoga that helps balance the active and passive energies within us.

A very active Yoga practice sometimes known as Yang Yoga should be balanced with the practice of more passive and restorative Yoga postures. If you do not practice Yoga however lead an active life, pushing yourself hard in all areas of your life, no doubt, you can benefit from some Yin Yoga too.

Restorative Yoga combines simple breathing exercises, relaxation and visualisation to help reduce anxiety, fear and stress levels, all known to have a negative impact on the body

About the Restorative Yoga Class

Each class focuses on a theme which carries through the meditation practice from the initial meditation through to the Relaxation.

The class starts with a gentle dynamic flow warming all parts of the body though inviting awareness while focusing on the rythmn of the breath.

The class continues taking in turn passive and quietly active postures which are held for a moment, allowing introspection with body awareness.

The class concludes with a final relaxation using visualisation as a powerful meditation technique.
