When I first discovered yoga (and what I mean by that is was a means to an end, a stretch after a run) it wasn’t ‘finding myself, feeling enlightened or to open my chakras in those days. Oh no, the lying down bit at the end used to annoy me.  I’d done my stretching, and wanted to get on.

One of those irritating people that always rush everywhere looking for the next thing to do.  My mum told me a few years back that if ADHD was as common as it was in the later 1960’s as it is now, I would have been diagnosed with it.

She grew all her own veg, we were only allowed chips once a week, she fed us very healthily, made her asthmatic child swim attend dance classes and never wrote a note to the PE teacher saying I couldn’t do games because I was too wheezy.   If I did have ADHD in those days it wasn’t down to video games, additives in food and lack of physical activity.  I digress…. but you get the picture.

Having now practised yoga for about 12 years and now teaching  and ‘maturing’  somewhat ( although some may question this) I actively look forward to the lying down bit.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not what I’m waiting for all class, I love every minute I am on the mat but that bit at the end just tops it off.

Just recently I have had cause to research
